Last month鈥檚 momentous commencement ceremony
91视频. Scholastica celebrated a momentous commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 11, at the AMSOIL Arena within the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) in Duluth, MN. The event, which was for those unable to attend in person, highlighted the achievements of both undergraduate and graduate students and a significant milestone in their academic journeys.
Inspiring remarks from Commencement
Throughout the ceremony, inspiring remarks were shared by esteemed speakers, including St. Scholastica President Dr. Barbara McDonald, Mimi Stender of the Board of Trustees and two student speakers, who all emphasized the importance of service, empathy and leadership; such remarks.

鈥淣othing brings me more joy than to look out of the sea of CSS graduates, our undergraduate and graduate students, who have achieved so much and are now prepared to go forth and lead lives of purpose as Saints. Commencement is the most celebratory event in the life of a college. Not seen as an end, but seen indeed as a significant milestone, truly a new dawning. It is also a time to look back, to reflect, to take stock as we transition forward.鈥

鈥淭oday is the culmination of many life and student experiences. Your positive impact will occur wherever you reside in the communities where you choose to live and work. So regardless of where you are in your life or career, we cannot wait to see what you will do to positively impact and transform the world.鈥

鈥淓ach of us was given a calling, and today, we stand ready to respond. The future of our professions and communities depends on people like us: those who lead with empathy, serve with humility, and act with purpose. May we continue to embody community 鈥 and other Benedictine values 鈥 by loving the unlovable, serving the oppressed and reaching out to those in need to prioritize optimal care for our community.鈥
Amy Leopold was honored by the American Red Cross for her volunteerism.

鈥淭his College has given us much more than just an education. St. Scholastica has given us a sense of belonging, purpose and connection. Every tour I gave wasn鈥檛 just about the buildings or programs we have; it was about inviting others into the community that has shaped who we all have become.鈥
