As a Biology major 91视频, you’ll explore the vast areas of biology, including genetics, ecology, human biology, and evolution. You’ll learn how cells, molecules, and biochemistry work together in all living things, and gain a new appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the natural world.

The Biology program emphasizes hands-on learning and research opportunities. During your studies, you鈥檒l have the chance to take at least two courses that allow you to apply your knowledge in real-world settings.

Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) developed in partnership through the Tiny Earth or HHMI鈥檚 Science Education Alliance
Internships at several sites, including the DNR, Hartley Nature Center, the Great Lakes Aquarium, Natural Resources Research Institute (NRRI), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Mid-Continent Ecology Lab

Career Outlook

Graduates of the Biology program have gone on to positions in the public, private, and tribal sectors in various healthcare, biomedical, biotechnology, ecological, and conservation professions. Others have continued their education in medical training (MD, PA, OT, PT, dental, veterinarian, chiropractic, pharmacy), or pursued graduate degrees in fields ranging from public health to molecular genetics and genomics, microbiology, immunology, behavior, and ecology.
